UniversiTube ("we," "us") lets you paste a video link and get it distilled into a summary plus the skills, code, links, and products it mentions. You can also connect your own YouTube account to browse your Liked videos and Subscriptions and queue them for analysis. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do.

The short version. When you connect Google, we request a single read-only YouTube permission and use it only to read your Liked videos and Subscriptions so you can pick videos to analyze. We never post, like, comment, subscribe, delete, or change anything on your account, and we don't touch your private watch history, Gmail, Drive, or anything outside YouTube.

1. What we collect

Account info. If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication details (handled by our auth provider) and your plan/usage for billing. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google to identify your account.
YouTube data (only if you connect Google). Using Google's read-only youtube.readonly scope, we read your Liked videos and your Subscriptions (the channels you follow and their recent uploads) to show them in the in-app picker. We read this on demand to display it to you; we do not build a separate long-term copy of your YouTube library.
Videos you analyze. When you analyze a video, we process its public metadata and transcript to produce the distilled summary. Completed analyses are saved to your account and to a public, searchable archive of distilled videos.
Usage analytics. Standard analytics (pages viewed, features used, approximate device/location) to operate and improve the product.

2. How we use it

To provide the core features: distilling videos and letting you browse and queue your own Liked videos and Subscriptions.
To manage your account, plan, and usage limits, and to process payments.
To improve the product and keep it secure and reliable.

3. Google user data — limited use

UniversiTube's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

We use your YouTube data only to provide and improve the in-app features you see (browsing and queuing your Liked videos and Subscriptions).
We do not sell your Google user data.
We do not use it for advertising.
We do not let humans read it, except where you explicitly ask us to, for security, or to comply with the law.
The access is read-only — we cannot post, modify, or delete anything on your YouTube account.

4. Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that run UniversiTube (for example, our authentication/database host, payment processor, and analytics), each acting on our behalf under their own terms. We may disclose information if required by law.

Note: the distilled analysis of a video you run may appear in our public archive of analyzed videos. That archive contains video summaries — not your account details, your email, or your private YouTube library.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can disconnect Google access anytime from your Google account permissions; doing so immediately stops our access to your Liked videos and Subscriptions. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below and we'll remove it.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and scoped access tokens. We never see your Google password — Google handles sign-in.

7. Children

UniversiTube is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
